Based on the demonstration activities in Deng Kou county of Inner Mongolia, the comparison of impacts of conventional agriculture and organic farm on biodiversity is analyzed. The results shows that the development of organic farm can improve the biodiversity protection,such as, the increasing of beneficial insects and birds.

本文通过在试验区对常规农业和有机农业分别对生物多样性的影响进行了分析比较，结果表明发展有机农业，能够促进生物多样性保护，如有益昆虫的数量增加，其中七星瓢虫最为明显，蚜虫的虫口密度降低，益鸟等生物的数量有所增加。

The databases available include two organism biodiversity background database: database of birds, database of Amphibia, Reptilia and Mammalia. Five specific biodiversity databases include: database of anti－pollution plants and pollution－indicator plants, database of ornamental plants, database of pests and harmful animals, database of wetland biodiversity.

目前提供的主要数据库包括2个有机体多样性本底数据库：鸟类资源库、两栖爬行动物及哺乳动物库；5个专类生物多样性数据库：绿化观赏植物库、抗污染植物库、环境污染敏感植物库、害虫害兽库、湿地生物多样性库。

This whole research constitutes two independent projects, that is "Estimating divergence times among subfamilies in Nymphalidae" and "Fine- and landscape-scale spatial genetic structure of cushion rockjasmine, Androsace tapete, across southern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau", which discussed respectively the application of molecular evolutionary analysis in two aspects of evolutionary biology.

分子进化分析就是利用分子数据来研究进化问题。地球上呈现的生物多样性则是突变和自然选择的产物，是生物进化的结果。生物进化的过程包含有两个面：基因的长期进化和遗传多样性，也就是通常意义上的大进化和小进化。该项目就是以两个不同的实验——即&蛱蝶科各亚科间分歧时间的估计&和&青藏高原垫状点地梅的空间遗传结构分析&——分别探讨了分子进化分析在大小进化两个方面的应用。

The result showed that:(1) There were a higher density of Ostreidae and Balanidae and a lower biodiversity in the cay sampling section of Daxie Island.(2) No significant difference was found in the macrozoobenthos community among the tide plat sampling section in Daxie Island.(3) There was a lower macrozoobenthos species number, biodiversity, and a higher density of Sternaspis scutata and Capitella capitata than those in the sea area beside Daxie Island. Moreover, a significant difference was found in the macrozoobenthos community between the sea area of Daxie Island and the adjacent islands.

结果发现：(1)大榭岛岩相潮间带断面牡蛎科和藤壶科等科的物种栖息密度较高，生物多样性较低；(2)泥沙相潮间带底栖动物状况与其他海岛差别不显著；(3)大榭岛近岸海域底栖动物种数少于其他海岛近岸海域，且前者不倒翁虫和小头虫等多毛类物种栖息密度较高，生物多样性较低，群落结构与其他区域相差较大；(4)环境质量的生物评价结果显示，大榭岛近岸海域扰动程度高于其他海岛近岸海域。

Sino-Indian region has been regarded as one of richest area in biodiversity in the world. In the present project,a biodiversity and biogeographical study on Chironomidae in this region is performed via international collaboration.

In silvicultural regeneration treatment,the diversity of shrubs and herbages increases gradually in stage A1～A3,and the variation will continue after stage A3,further work is needed to examine the dynamic.

Department of Ecology and Biodiversity is primarily dedicated to education and research in ecology and biodiversity including conservation biology, coral ecology, ecotoxicology, environmental microbiology, fungal biodiversity, mangrove ecology, microbiology, molecular ecology and evolution, molecular microbial ecology, molecular phylogenetics, plant pathology, plant systematics and evolution, plant-animal interactions, pollution biology, terrestrial ecology.

The results showed that the species number of periphyton was the greatest in summer and the density of dominant species was the highest in summer and autumn, and the water quality was generally consistent with the tendency of the changes both in the indices of diversity and evenness. There were significant negative correlations between the contents of N and P in water, and the indices of diversity, evenness, algae density, total biomass, while CODcr and BOD5 did not show any significant relationship with these four biological indices.

研究结果显示，着生生物种类数以夏季最多，优势种密度以夏、秋季最大，多样性指数、均匀度指数的变化趋势与水质指标的监测结果基本一致；经相关性分析表明：水体中氮、磷含量分别与生物多样性指数、均匀度指数、藻类密度和总生物量四项指标呈显著负相关， CODcr、BOD5与四项生物指标均无相关性。
