本研究乃利用河滩地进行小型实场试验，由国立高雄海洋科技大学海洋环境工程系沈建全副教授所研发『污水生态分配处理系统』之生活污水净化处理及复育实场和实验室分析研究，期望可以使用本系统，改善生活污水直接排入河川，造成河川污染的情形，且可改变民众对於河滩地杂草丛生的刻版印象，提升河川自净机能，创造保育、生态、休憩及景观等空间，同时也解决目前国内对於自然净化工程欠缺营建土地的问题。
