This paper deals briefly with the mechanism of natural thermoluminescence of minerals.

It shows that the LiF series TLD meet the National Standard Thermoluminescence dosimetry system used for personal and environmental monitoring. Also some related issues are discussed.

The study results indicate that as emission power increases, the peak power density on the section of a certain distance will increase firstly, then it will descend and that the peak light intensity on the section will increase with the increasing of spot radius of basic mode Gaussian beam. As the propagation distance increases, the peak light intensity on the section will descend gradually, and the laser energy will spread. The light intensity distribution exhibits straw hat shape on a certain conditions, in other word to say, the central light intensity is less than acroteric light intensity.

This paper gives an experimental techniques to measure gamma-ray heating inthe zero-power reactor with the ~7LiF thermoluminescent dosimeters,cavi-ty-ionization theory is used to determine the relationship between the gamma-rayheating in the medium and the energy deposition in a TLD placed within the me-dium.

The second chapterintroduces the characters of glass curtain walls. The third chapter goes along astudy on the daylight glare inside the glass curtain wall buildings. The fourthchapter goes along a systemic study on the reflection glare from glass curtainwalls and introduces design and development of the reflection glare calculation module. The fifth chapter uses some building simulation tools tocalculate and evaluate the heat pollution and light pollution. The sixth chaptersummarizes and prospects.
