The strategies of high order sliding mode control and sliding mode control with integral action are proposed. Without losing the virtue of robustness and the ability of eliminating disturbance, these strategies can minimize the chattering phenomenon which is quite common in conventional sliding mode control.

It shows that the FE method of tireanalysis under driving state and the method dealing with large slip frictionalcontact problems are correct and reliable. The properties of tires under steady cornering state are studied with FEmethod and experiment. Based on the presented contact solution algorithm, a FEmethod is carried out to analyze the properties of tire under steady corneringstate via imposing slip-rolling-constraints on tire bead nodes which contact therim, and the modules are programmed. The mechanical properties anddeformation of tire under pure steady cornering state and steadycornering-driving state are analyzed, and the results show good agreement withthe experimental data.

By the method of Lyapunov function, a new terminal sliding mode control strategy based on the form of restricted equivalence is proposed for the first time, and the hypersurface of a special terminal sliding mode is given. The assumption of the variable tendency of slip-line in active zone is made based on the numerical results. Combining the slip-line equations and boundaries, the formula of bearing capacity is deduced which can consider the density of soil. The formula of bearing capacity of strip footing on ponderable soil is also deduced assuming that the slip-line field of ponderable soil is the same with that of weightless soil, which is proved to be an upper-limit solution, as its the same with that deduced by the upper-limit method in Prandtl mechanism.

An instantaneous optimal semi-active control method is put forward. Combined sliding mode control with lyapunov's stability theory, the control weights matrix, which can minimize structural instantaneous energy, is designed. Simulation and shaking table test is conducted to validated the method's effectiveness. To solve combination explosion of controlled structural state encountered in high-rise building control, the semi-active control strategy, which can drive structural state point to reach the sliding mode switching band, is designed by using sliding mode control theory, and genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal semi-active switching to drive the structural state point to sliding mode switching band at prestissimo speed.
