San Francisco socialite and art-world doyenne Bibi Chen has planned the vacation of a lifetime along the notorious Burma Road for 12 of her dearest friends.

2003年1月27日至2月2日间，我们从密支那出发，沿江到八莫（以往滇缅公路上的一个重镇），如上记述，看到了以千计的灰鹤，也记录到不少其他水鸟，一下是数量较多和较特别的几种：斑嘴鹈鹕（12只），鸬鹚（近1000只），蛇鹈（65只），黑鹳（65只），白颈鹳（1只），小秃鹳（2只），斑头雁（3230只），赤麻鸭（5423只），赤膀鸭（2367只），灰燕鸻（近8000只）。
