Soils dominated by 2:1 clays(montmorillonite, vermiculite, illite), more frequently found in temperate zones, but also present in tropical and subtropical areas; behave different from the typical tropical red soils (Ultisols and Oxisols dominated by Fe and Al oxides and kaolinite) and from the soils developed from volcanic ash (Andisols dominated by allophane, imogolite, and humus-Al complexes) that are widely spread over the world.

我们常在温带地区发现的2：1型粘土矿物为主的土壤，也出现在热带和亚热带地区。这些土壤不同于世界范围内广泛分布的典型的热带红壤(以铁铝氧化物和高岭石为优势粘土矿物的老成土和氧化土)，也不同于由火山灰（以水铝萤石、伊利缟石和腐殖质-Al复合体为优势粘土矿物的火山灰土）发育的土壤。

Because of the formation of mud flats and mangroves along the coast, large numbers of migratory birds from around the world are attracted to Taiwan, where they use these coastal areas as a temporary shelter and rest area before they resume their journey. In spring and summer there are the birds that leave the tropics behind to spend this season in Taiwan, such as the eye-catching fairy pitta, known in Chinese as the eight-color bird, while during autumn birds from colder northern areas come to Taiwan to spend the winter, such as the black-faced spoonbill of which only 530 are left worldwide. Each year the gray-faced buzzard will be right on time to participate in the Double Tenth celebrations (Taiwan's national day), and there are also countless other migratory birds that use Taiwan either as a stopover or as their final destination, one way or the other adding exuberant vitality to Taiwan's wildlife.

此外，台湾沿岸由於泥质滩地及红树林生长，吸引了来自各地的侯鸟群，成为侯鸟过境栖息的庇护所；有在春夏之际由热带地区到台湾来避暑的夏侯鸟，如羽色艳丽漂亮的八色鸟；也有在秋季时由寒温带南下到台湾避寒的冬候鸟，如全世界所剩不多的黑面琵鹭，每年都会来到台湾曾文溪口沼泽地度冬，以及在每年国庆期间，准时来台共度光辉十月的国庆鸟─灰面鹫；还有更多以台湾为中继站或迁徙终点的侯鸟群，为台湾的生态加注了旺盛的生命力！

Kenli County, known as the broadest, the most complete, and the youngest wetland system in the warm temperate zone, is located at the mouth of Yellow River, the mother river of China, which carries alluvial deposits to create new land of 32.4 square kilometers every year. Meanwhile, the county holds rich oil and natural gas resources and ample seafoods such as holothurian. It also served as an important holy revolutionary base in 1940s.

山东省垦利县位于中华民族的母亲河——黄河的入海口，黄河每年携沙在垦利造陆三万亩左右，被誉为共和国最年轻的土地，拥有我国温带最年轻、最广阔、最完整的湿地生态系统；同时，垦利作为胜利油田的发祥地和主产矿区，地下油气资源富集；这里也是著名的红色革命老区，有山东的"小延安"之称；垦利濒临渤海，盛产海参、黄河口刀鱼等名优海产品，素有"百鱼之乡"、"黄金海岸"的美誉。

The representative families are Dryopteridaceae, Athyriaceae, Polypodiaceae, Thelypteridaceae, Selaginellaceae and Aspleniaceae. The main genera are Dryopteris, Selaginella, Asplenium, Arachniodes, Pteris, Allantodia and Plagiogyria. The top families' distribution types are cosmopolitan and pantropic ones, the main genera are pantropical ones, while species distribution type belong to the east Asia type and represents the feature of subtropics transition to warm temperated areatype. As for the order of closeness, the sequence of pteridophytes floristic relations between Songyang and the adjacent regions goes as Southwest China, South China, Central China, Japan, North China, Northwest China and Northeast China. The six upland pteridophytes next to Songyang can be put into the same natural flora because of its closest relationship. But compared with other 11 upland fern flora in China, fern in Songyang is not rich enough. There are 37 species endemic to China in Songyang.

结果表明，松阳蕨类植物共有38科72属161种7变种；优势科为鳞毛蕨科、蹄盖蕨科、水龙骨科、金星蕨科、卷柏科、铁角蕨科，优势属为鳞毛蕨属、卷柏属、铁角蕨属、复叶耳蕨属、凤尾蕨属、短肠蕨属、瘤足蕨属；科的分布以世界分布和泛热带分布为主，属的分布以泛热带分布为最多，种以东亚分布类型为主，特别是中国—日本分布类型最多，表现出亚热带向暖温带过渡的特点；本区与邻近地区蕨类植物区系关系的密切程度由大到小依次为西南、华南、华中、日本、华北、西北、东北；与邻近的6个山地蕨类植物区系的亲缘关系密切，可以划为同一自然区；与国内11山地蕨类植物区系相比，松阳的蕨类植物丰富程度不高；松阳拥有37种中国特有蕨类植物及一些珍稀蕨类植物，有较高的保护价值。

One hundred and thirty four families, 578 genera and 1197 species are recorded in this area. According to the information of historical geology and natural conditions, the composition of seed plant flora and the areal-types of genera were analyzed. The results showed that its origin was rather ancient and its geographical compositions were complicated. There were many species of rare and endangered plants, e.g. Taxus chinensis var. mairei, Bretschneidera sinensis, Emmenopterys henryi, Fokienia hodginsii, Torreya grandis, Phoebe bournei, Ormosia henryi, and so on. Most of these plants had high value in economics and scientific research. According to statistics and analysis of genera in the present flora, 578 genera were divided into 14 areal-types. The ratio of tropical and temperate genera was respectively 48.6% and 49.2%, so its flora was characterized by transitional floristic elements, and in wide connection with the world.

该地区植物种类丰富，共有野生种子植物134科、578属、1197种；根据地史资料和自然条件，通过对种子植物种类的组成和分布区类型的分析，认为该区系起源古老，区系成分复杂；珍稀特有植物多，如南方红豆杉、钟萼木、香果树、福建柏、榧树、闽楠、花榈木等大量古老树种，并且绝大多数具有重要的经济价值和科研价值；区内578属可分为14个类型，热带和温带分布的属分别占48.6%和49.2%，具较明显的南北过渡的现象，与世界各地有广泛的联系。
