With butyl xanthate as a collecter, the flotation behavior of jamesonite, pyrrhotite and marmatite, the depressing effects of small mercapto organic depressant (mercaptoacetic acid, mercaptoethanol ) and the effect of Cu2+ ion on depressing ability of mercapto compound were studied through flotation test and infrared spectrum.

Desulphurization has become one of primary objects of cleaning coal. At present, there are some primary problems of removing sulfur from coal. It is the size of coal is too small, the time of removing sulfur is too long, the technology is too complicated and the investment is much expensive etal.

In acid pulp, the depressing abilities of reagents on diaspore are in the order of hydroxamic acid starch＞dialdehyde starch＞carboxymethyl starch＞cationic starch＞primary starch. In addition, hydroxamic acid starch and carboxymethyl starch can activate kaolinite without influence on the recoveries of pyrophyllite and illite, so the two reagents have great potential and prospect to be the depressant of diaspore and the activator of kaolinite in bauxite reverse flotation.(3) By oximation of the copolymer of acrylamide and methyl acrylate, hydroxamic acid polyacrylamide is synthesized.

The floatation rate of Pd (superscript 2+) reaches 100% when the concentrations of NaNO3, KBr and cetyl pyridinium bromide in solution are 0.05 g/mL, 3.0×10^(-2) mol/L, 5.0×10^(-4) mol/L(pH 4.0), respectively. Pd (superscript 2+) could be separated from Ru (superscript 3+), Al (superscript 3+), Cr (superscript 3+), Ni (superscript 2+), Ga (superscript 3+), Fe (superscript 3+) and Zn (superscript 2+) by floatation quantiatively. A method of flotation separation and enrichment of Pd (superscript 2+) was established.
