In view of the existing situation, which is hindering us to make further study on Qi' ideological system, the author do his utmost at the following two aspects:The first, after a brief examination of Qi' life, the author makes an empirical expound on his literary and artistic creation at the preface of the Master' thesis, so as to leave readers a distinct impression;The second, the author take punctuating the books seriously, because punctuating is one of the important businesses for sorting out and selecting the ancient books.

追对於进一步研究契嵩的佛学思想及其思想学说的流布，颇为不利。因而，本论文在踵武前人的基础上，有针对性地做好以下两方面的工作：首先，在论文前言部分，对契嵩生平，特别是其上书仁宗的经历，作了较为精心的梳理，冀补前人研究的不足；对契嵩的诗歌、散文创作，作了较为感性的论述，力求给读者一个具体、鲜明的印象。其次，对论文的校注部分，力求做到校勘求精，注释求准。用新式标点符号标点古籍，是古籍整理工作的要务之一，论文对此也尤为重视。
