It is a general term to each kind of bad quality oil. Usually, trench oil is collected and refined from leftovers eatery offal, or refined from inferior pork and internal organs ,it always contains animal fat. It is reported that three million ton trench oil is consumed by Chinese per year, and its toxicity is as strong as white arsenic, I do not know whether such parlance is right or wrong.

它其实是一种劣质油的通称，一般说来，地沟油是从剩菜剩饭中提取出来的，或是从劣质额度猪肉，内脏中历练出来，通常都含有动物油脂，据报道，中国人每年要消耗掉300万吨地沟油，其毒性不亚于砒霜，我不知道这样的说法是否有据可查。
