In the past 50 years, the quickening process of aeolian desertification has caused the major environmental and socio-economic problems.

中国北方在过去的50年里，沙漠化土地以其广泛的分布和迅速发展构成了区域主要的环境和社会经济问题。

But in recent years, aeolian desertification has slowed down due to the efforts of the governments and the local people, about 1,280 km^2 annually on the decrease.

但最近几年来，经过政府和当地人民的共同努力，沙漠化有明显逆转的趋势，大约每年以128平方公里的速度在减少。

At present, the aeolian desertification is still facing the situation of "partly controlled but whole worsen".
