The comparison was made between China and USA on the redevelopment of urban industrial wasteland. The importance attached to the redevelopment of urban industrial wasteland was less than that of urban atmosphere and water pollution,lack of a related law system,shortage of enough funds and effective risk assessment,poor consciousness of public participation,without new methods and techniques,nontransparency of information about industrial wasteland pollution,and some improving suggestions were presented finally.

通过对中美两国城市工业废弃地污染治理的比较研究，认为中国对城市工业废弃地污染治理的重视程度低于城市大气污染、水污染的治理，存在相关法律法规不完善、污染责任认定不明晰、治理资金缺乏、风险等级评估不科学、公众与社区参与意识不强、治理方法与技术落后、污染信息不透明、治理后用途单一等问题，对此提出了相应的改进建议。
