Needle broadleaf mixed forest, altitude among 2400—2700m, southern slop,glade and inhabit wood (according to 49%,44%, 44%, 64%, 58% respectively).The main food of blood pheasant are grain leaf and genus carex.Some of them also choose shrubs, conifer forest and eastern slop of hills.

影响血雉栖息地选择主要有下列因子：针阔叶混交林、海拔2400—2700米、南坡和有大量林中空地及栖材的生境（其比例分别为49%、44%、44%、64%、58%），食物主要是禾叶苔草；对灌丛、针叶林、东坡也有一定的选择。

There are several factors including average altitude, southern slop of hills,gentle slops, under branches, southern Orientation of nests, near to water, nearby places for sandy bathing and covering woods nearby nests that decide the nesting selection of blood pheasant. There are significant differences among the nests of blood pheasants on the nearby vegetation in spite of arbor, shrub and herbage.

作者在血雉产卵期（4.28—5.9）采用跟踪调查的方法，对其巢穴与栖息地生境因子选择进行了调查，结果显示血雉巢穴选择主要生境如下：平均海拔2700米左右、梁下部、南坡、坡度平缓、巢向南、距水源近、巢周围有栖材，有能够用来沙浴的地方，位于树根、树桩下，防风雨、巢材是竹叶、树叶。
