There is another genus of the hard-shell kind, which is called oyster; another of the soft-shell kind, not as yet designated by a single term, such as the spiny crawfish and the various kinds of crabs and lobsters; and another of molluscs, as the two kinds of calamary and the cuttle-fish; that of insects is different.

还有一种硬壳类叫做牡蛎；另外一种软壳类，至今没有被单一的条件确定，例如多刺的小龙虾和不同种类的螃蟹与龙虾；另一种软体动物，像是枪乌贼和乌贼；昆虫是不同的。

Of those swimming creatures that appear to have feet, as is the case with the molluscs, these creatures swim by the aid of their feet and their fins as well, and they swim most rapidly backwards in the direction of the trunk, as is the case with the cuttle-fish or sepia and the calamary; and, by the way, neither of these latter can walk as the poulpe or octopus can.

There were lesser and fewer in commercial species and its numbers in the cover net, and the sum of Nemipterus virgatus , Saurida tumbil , Upeneus bensasi , Trachinocephalus myops comprised 95.4% in number and 86.0% in weight of sample catch in the cover net,respectively. The high percentage of juvenile commercial species that were undersized in the codend showed 30.3 mm square mesh codend had more serious damage to most juvenile commercial species, approaching or exceeding 50% in percentage of juvenile species which body length is smaller than fishable size- Trichiurus haumela, Priacanthus tayenus , Navodon tessellatus, Argyrosomus argentatus, Nemipterus bathybius and so on, even exceeding 90% in percentage of juvenile Sepia spp, Loligo spp and Parastromateus niger. In particular, 50% selection lengths ( L 0.5) caught Saurida tumbil and Nemipterus virgatus were smaller than their minimum fishable size.

结果表明，这种规格的方目网囊平均尾数逃逸率为29.76%，平均重量逃逸率为8.46%；出现在套网中的经济种类少、数量少，条尾绯鲤、金线鱼、多齿蛇鲻、大头狗母鱼4种鱼的尾数和重量分别占套网抽样渔获的95.4%和86.0%；网囊中带鱼、长尾大眼鲷、黄鳍马面鲀、白姑鱼、深水金线鱼等鱼种的体长小于可捕标准的个体尾数比例均超过或接近50%，枪乌贼、乌贼、乌鲳等幼鱼尾数比例达90%以上，多齿蛇鲻和金线鱼50%选择体长均未达到最低可捕标准，表明该种规格网囊对多数经济种类幼体的损害比较严重。

Loligo pealei squids have eight arms and two tentacles, all of which are coated with suction-cups, lined with fangs composed of chitin.

Based on the investigated data in the west sea area of continental shelf of the East China Sea (25°30'-33°30'N, 128°00'E) from 1994 to 1996 and from 2004 to 2006, the quantity distribution and growth characteristics of Loligo edulis was studied. The results showed that the capture rate of Loligo edulis is 20.3 kg/h in summer, which is the fastigium of quantity distribution in a year, the capture rate is 5.1 kg/h in spring and autumn, and it's became the lowest in winter.

根据1994-1996年和2004-2006年东海大陆架25°30'-33°30'N，128°00'E以西海域调查资料，对剑尖枪乌贼的数量分布和生长特性进行研究，结果表明：剑尖枪乌贼渔获量高峰期出现在夏季，其资源密度指数达到20.3kg/h，其次是春、秋季，均为5.1kg/h，冬季最低。
