In this paper, based on the data of flume experiments and field engineering, the indicial method of dimensional analysis is compared with the method based on energy equation. the characteristics of the two methods are analyzed and the application conditions are put forward. this research can provide evidence for method selection of radial gates hydraulic calculation or calibration.
