With the use of absorption chiller performance model, an approximate calculation method was derived for the absorption chiller unit with a quantitative analysis of the effect of operating parameters on the absorption chiller performance. The formula is simple, physically clear and accurate enough. Its correctness was verified by calculation examples and model predictions were compared against performance data from experiments with favorable results.
