This can be done using computer vision technique and from symmetry property of potteries. The problem of recovering the 3D shape of a surface of revolution from images is addressed. The algorithm makes use of the symmetry properties of a surface of revolution and its silhouette to rectify the image such that the resulting silhouette exhibits bilateral symmetry.

By measuring the point features to obtain the orientation of the bone and by adding compesated cutting path, results shows that the angle error between the connection of Femoral and Tebial mechanical axis is 2.44 degree and the angle error is 0.75 degree in epicondylar axis, which met the error in practical requirement for total knee replacement surgery.

Most of Chinese GPR have not as good performances as ones abroad. In the paper, the GPR system developed by us employs several optimization techniques to enhance the system performances, including antenna, sampling-hold circuit, orientation wheel, function of system software, multithreading, and signal processing algorithms. As the result the system works more well with these techniques, and its azimuth and distance resolution of 10 cm has been achieved with detection depth of more than 50 cm.
