Though Transformations dose not change the plot and the structure of the stories, it has the sophisticated form. Without the fabulous camouflage of the fair tales the truth which exposed to the Sexton is the fragmentized American dream. Transformations not only responds the intrapersonal struggle of the author but also reflects the culture trait of the modern America under the consumerism.

通过对诗集的互文性解读，笔者发现塞克斯顿在《变形》中开始尝试一种新的探索自我的方式，她的改写绝不是对《格林童话》的简单重复，诗集不只响应了诗人内心的挣扎，也透视出整个美国社会的文化精神；诗人不仅在消费主义语境下赋予了格林童话崭新的意义，更在某种程度上还原了其在流传过程中被改编者试图抹去的残酷真相。
