We rested until 7.8.41, and were assigned to "Panzergruppe Hoth", who apart from us, consisted of 20. and 18.Panzer-Grenadier-Division (actually, both were still motorizied infantry divisions at this point, they both became Panzer-Grenadier units in 1943 - JP) and 12.Panzer-Division. On 19.8.41 we moved northwards, Smolensk - Vitebsk - Opotska - Nikolajewo - Nowgorodtowards Leningrad, and we stopped about 20km from Leningrad, in the Nevaarea, with the task to form a bridge-head.
