Objective To investigate the feasibility of individual radiotherapy for patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma of high radiation-sensitivity via caparison of long-term effect, toxicities between individual and conventional radiotherapy.

The radiotherapy operators average dose is high than radiodiagnosis operators about 68.1%, the technicians and maintainers' average dose is high than doctors and nurses' in radiotherapy about 93.3%.

Poor appetite and bone marrow suppression were observed one week after the craniospinal radiation, and the radiation therapy was ceased. Spinal magnetic resonance imaging showed no spinal matastasis. White blood and platelet counts gradually increased. Subsequently, brain radiation was initiated. The patient currently can walk with good endurance and without device.

中断脑部脊髓放射治疗期间脊髓之核磁共振检查结果无脊髓之转移，白血球及血小板数目已有回升，所以重新开始脑部放射治疗而不再照射脊髓的部分，减少骨髓抑制的并发症；个案食欲不振的现象改善，且口语表达、步行及耐力亦进步中，并於脑部放射治疗结束后出院，改为门诊追踪。

Both IMRT and conventional radiotherapy were planned for every patient. After comparing the radiation dose and volume to the heart and lung, and other dosimetric parameters, we then decided which technique to use for individual patient.

Methods from Sept 2000 to March, 2002 516 patients with body tumor were therapied. The radiotherapeutic plan and set dosage distribution had been worked out on the basis of the carcinoma position, clinical target volume, patient health condition, and therapeutic aim. The isodosage curve was 50-90%. The fractional doses was 300-900cgy. The therapy had been repeated for 5-9 times for one patient, every two days one time. Results the patients were followed up 3 to 15 months after therapy.
