Based on the analysis of construction and function of the control system of the computerized flat knitting machine, the paper proposes a design of an embedded control system based on ARM microprocessor, FPGA and Linux for the flat knitting machine. GPIO driver program provides the communication service between S3C2410 and EPGA, and knitting control program completes the whole process from the input of knitting file to the output of floriated pattern.
