Methods:Fifty-six patients with metacarpal and phalangeal fractures who were reviewed in the study were divided into two groups:Group A and Group B.Thirty-two patients in Group A were treated with open reduction,Kirschner internal fixation and postoperative plaster splint external fixation.Other 24 patients in Group B were treated with open reduction,Mini-plate internal fixation,without any external fixation.

Results 17 patients reported in the literature had primary bronchogenic carcinoma with metastases of phalanges of fingers as its first symptom. 7 patients' metastatic lesions located in their phalanges of left hands, 9 right hands and 1 both hands.
