Examining China's translation and reception of Latin American Literature in the years ranging from 1949 to 1999 from the perspective of Cultural Studies, the essay is designed to discuss the complicated and subtle relationship between translation and politics, translation and ideology, uncover the various kinds of misreading and mislocation, rewriting and miscontextualization in the process of translation and reception, with the purpose of providing new ways of thinking and point of view for the understanding and analyzing the literature and history in contemporary China.
