Results Of five cases,scaphocephaly was seen in one case and oxycephaly and brachycephaly were revealed in two cases respectively.All cases demonstrated the deepened impressions for cerebral gyri.The antedisplacement of the sphenoid body and the smaller orbit were seen in four cases.One case with oxycephaly demonstrated the enlarged supratentorial cerebral ventricles on CT.One case with brachycephaly showed a depressed skull,narrowing of the optic foramen and obvious protrusion of both eyes on CT.Conclusion The radiological manifestations of cranial stenosis were characteristic.

Methods:Fifty paired embalmed cadaveric humeri (twenty-five pairs:fourteen from male donors and eleven from female donors) were scanned in medial-lateral and anterior-posterior position according to the humeral retroversion by CT. Images of the humeri in the transverse planes at the lowest border of neck,20mm and 40mm distal of LBN(LBN-20、LBN-40), isthmus, head-neck anterior-posteriorwere obtained. Sixty-one extracortical and intracortical parameters were measured exactly by image analytic computer software that included offset, head position, head-shaft angle, head to tuberosity height, head thickness, curvature radius, articular surface arc, neck diameter, isthmus position, proximal and distal border of isthmus, maximum coronal and sagittal diameter of medullary canal and thickness of cortical bone in four planes, including LBN, LBN-20,LBN-40 and isthmus.

Methods forty patients with head/neck 16 slice CT angiograph were divided into two groups at random,each group has 20 cases, the plain scan and the CTP was performed before CTA to all 40 cases. Group A use CTP to obtain the peak time of contrasted artery as CTA delay time, and scan from head side to foot side. Group B use contrast media automatic bolus tracking to obtain delay time,scan from foot side to head side.two groups CTA images were collated.

The screw entry point was located at the tip of transverse process. The average inclination angle should be 10°-20° headward and 30°-40° toward neutral line respectively. The screw was inserted and entered into the vertebral body along the external cortex of pedicle. The integrity of cortical bone around screws, the distance to segmental blood vessels and the penetration of cortex were observed after operation to evaluate the accuracy and safety of screw placement. Among 160 thoracic pedicle screws that were implanted in 34 cases, 148 screws (92.5%) were accurately inserted inside the costotransverse unit, and 12 screws (7.5%) were misplaced according to the image of X-ray and CT thin-slice scan.

From 2004 to 2007, 34 cases were treated with extrapedicular screw fixation in Department of Orthopaedics, Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. The screw entry point, angle, depth and diameter were measured and defined on the thoracic vertebrae pedicle by CT thin-slice scan in standard prone for all cases before operation.
