为进一步加强和改进高职院校学生思想政治工作，提高学生思想政治工作的针对性和有效性，本文从高职学生的基本特征出发，结合高职教育的培养目标、基本特征以及高职院校学生思想政治工作的特点，对现阶段我国高职院校学生思想政治工作存在的主要问题和根源进行了深入的分析，提出了完善高职学生思想政治工作的思路和对策。

中等专业学校课程体系中，思想政治课对学生思想政治素质的养成，具有举足轻重的作用。目前我国中等专业学校思想政治课教学存在着一些不容忽视的问题，它们包括：思想政治课教育教学的要求缺乏层次，脱离学生的内在需要和社会实际，成为一种刻板的圣贤式的标准；思想政治课的教育内容，关注思想政治理论知识，具有知识中心主义的思维倾向；思想政治课教育教学过程忽视学生完整人格的养成；思想政治课的教育教学方法，习惯于硬性的灌输和压服，缺乏有效的疏导教育和有指导的自我教育；思想政治课的教学评价不合理等。笔者认为要提高中等专业学校思想政治课的教学质量，有效完成教学任务，取得良好教学效果，关键在于思想政治课教师的教学艺术。

但是当前的新形势下，我国远洋船舶思想政治工作仍然存在着一些不容忽视的问题，如对船舶思想政治工作认识不统一、船舶政委在权与利方面的缺失与弱化、部分船舶政委素质偏低，此外，船员队伍中也存在着一些问题。这些问题的存在有体制上和思想认识上的原因，同时，也由于我国航海教育存在着不足之处、远洋船员的心理健康问题未受到足够重视。

笔者从党员教师先进性要求的内涵及现状分析着手，提出保持高校党员先进性的对策：（1）持之以恒地开展党性教育，提高党员教师的思想政治素质；（2）努力营造校园环境，提高党员教师的政治荣誉感和责任感；（3）健全考核机制，为保持党员个体先进性提供制度保障；（4）实施党员形象工程，创新党员保持先进性的载体；（5）启动自我教育、自我管理和自我监督标杆，增强党员教师自律意识。
