We have measured trace iron ion in engine oil by spectrophotometry accurately, with the absorption wavelength locates at 430nm and under the color system of Fe－Ammonium Sulfate－Sulfosalicylic acid－Ammonia. The results show that the relative standard deviation of this sample is 5.5%.

以Fe－硫酸铵－磺基水杨酸－氨水为显色体系，用分光光度计，在430nm的波长下，准确的测定了发动机机油中的微量铁。
