An algorithm for color image segmentation based on contourtracing in anticlockwise order is presented. In the process of contour tracing, contour lines are gained by tracing in anticlockwise order and a method of backdate search which ensures the correctness of the algorithm is used for contour tracing at those pixels where other contour pixels can not be continuously traced.
