OBJECTIVE: To assess the effect of 5 mg/day prednisolone on disease progression in patients with early rheumatoid arthritis receiving standardized disease-modifying antirheumatic drug therapy.

为评价早期类风湿患者在接受标准改善病情抗风湿药的治疗基础上中应用强的松龙5 mg/日治疗的有效性。

Patients could continue stable doses of oral prednisone or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs but had to stop taking disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs at least 28 days before randomization.

患者可以继续口服稳定剂量的强的松或类固醇类消炎药，但是必须至少在随机分组的28天前停止服用缓解疾病的抗风湿性药物。
