First, the basic concept of VR and review of the present research method of architecture presentation are introduced, it proves that VR is necessary and reliable to represent architecture as a new method. Second, geometrical optimized method and texture optimized method are discussed specially, along with the analysis of characteristic of ancient and modern architectures. 全文分三部分，第一部分主要通过对虚拟现实基本概念的介绍和对已有建筑表现应用研究的简要回顾，阐明VR作为建筑表现新手段的必要性与可行性；第二部分则具体分析古代建筑与现代建筑特点，深入探讨几何优化建模与纹理优化建模；第三部分别结合乐山大佛古建筑群仿真案例与平度奥林匹克现代建筑仿真案例展示优化技术效果，充分证明本文提出的优化建模技术的可行性与有效性。
