A series of cholesterol-bearing O-carboxylmethyl chitosan conjugates with different degrees of substitution of the cholesterol moieties and cholesterol-bearing chitosan were synthesized by the succinyl linkages and characterized by Fourier transform infrared, Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (~1H NMR) and elemental analysis.
