Abstrac t : Pig image played a very important role in Chinese prehistoric belief system and is traditionally considered as a symbol concerning fertility cult. In analyzing archaeological discoveries and citing related information from ancient literature and ethnography, author argues that the phenomenon of pig-worship should be a reflection of an idea regarding breath and life-cycle.

猪在史前信仰系统中是一个重要的象征符号，其美术形象通常被解释为与丰产巫术有关，作者通过对考古发现的分析以及对人类学和古籍资料引证否认了这一认识，并认为猪崇拜应是史前人观念中的气息与生命循环意识的反映。
