苏州罗汉院双塔及正殿遗址，为中国建筑史宋代一章的重要证物，一九五四年冬我受江苏省文化局及苏州市园林古迹修整委员会的委托，为双塔修善工程拟计划时，提出整理正殿遗址，这项工作居然在修整期间完成，遂将所得写成此文，至于双塔部分已详刘敦桢教授一九三六年的调查报告中兹从略。
