Considering the vehicular SG cruise integrating model under braking condition influenced by some factors of nonlinearity, time-delay and the disturbance, a new nonlinear SMITH predictor is designed to compensate the time delays of control variable in advance. The analysis result proves that the design for improvement is more suitable for the design of longitudinal control laws for HALE tailless flying-wing UAV because the autopilot of flight control system is always in-the-loop, it is not necessary to consider the stability augmentation performance of control system such as traditional method.
