This study wants to perform researches on the Kangjinla chromitite and its host rock-mantle peridotite, to determine the existence of special mantle minerals, to discuss the origin of the chromtite and mantle peridotite together with the genetic relation between them.

The mineralogy, petrology, rare earth and trace element geochemistry, Re-Os and Sr-Nd isotopic geochemistry of the black shales and cherts of Yuretusi Formation at the bottom of the Cambrian in Xiaoerbulake and Shugeitebulake sections from northern Tarim Basin have been systematically studied. It was discovered that the high enrichment of some deep source metal elements in the black shales deals with the activity of hydrothermal fluid from the lower crust or upper mantal.

In order to elucidate the effect of the texture, structure and particle size of aggregate on determining its ASR reactivity, the texture, structure and ASR features of zeolitic pearlite and siliceous gravel were examined by optical microscope, XRD and SEM/EDS. It has been found that in addition to the type and amount of reactive constituents in aggregate, the physical structure has also strong influences on the process and expansion behavior of ASR, and the influences of physical structure may be various with particle size of aggregate.
