There are four kind of isoforms of endothelin in human and other mammals named ET-1, ET-2, ET-3 and ET-β, which are slightly different in construction and pharmacological effect. In human beings, ET-1 is the dominative subtypes. ET-1 remains in blood at a low level about 5ng per liter on physical state. It is synthesized, stored, released and metabolized locally. The half-life of ET-1 is about 1 hour. ET-1 is the most potent vasoconstrictive factor till now, and it is more functional in vein than in artery. In vascular bed, there are two kind of ET receptors. Type A mainly located in smooth muscle cells, whereas type B in endothelial cells. The latter can stimulate intimal hyperplasia via a parasecretion way and activate some oncogenes such as c-fos and c-myc and then enhance their expression. These alterations result in constriction of blood vessels, thus the SMC steps into proliferate state from silent state.

In the presence of L-isoproterenol (through local infusion into area CA1), the theta-pulse stimulation with the parameter of 10 Hz, 150 pulses/train, 1 train, a frequency weakly modifying synaptic strength, induced a robust LTP, and this effect was blocked when DL-propranolol was co-administered. By contrast, the theta-pulse stimulation with the parameter of 5 Hz, 150 pulses/train, 3 train, a frequency strongly modifying synaptic strength, induced a significantly smaller LTP when DL-propranolol was administered into area CA1. Accordingly, DL-propranolol impaired rat's spatial learning in the water maze when infused into area CA1 20min pretraining.

Results: In 2007, we provided 602 SPET/CT services in myocardial perfusion scan for attenuation correction and 202 SPET/CT services in other scans for image fusion. Among 64 regional bone SPET/CT services, we noted 2 (3.13%) significant motion artifacts and 2 (3.13%) streak artifacts induced by beam hardening effect while among 25 Ga-67 local SPET/CT services. According to the features including low tube currents and slow rotating speed of this SPET/CT, some problems such as the patient safety, longer scan time, alignment mismatch and radiation protection would be analyzed and discussed.
