As a manager in Baltimore, I often witnessed cases of employment discrimination, which at IBM alone were astounding: the manager who tried to fire a stereotypically ethnic employee because he "looked funny"; the marketing team that consistently excluded an Asian team member; the managers who mocked an employee for having an "offensive" toothpick in his mouth.
