To protect the identity of orchid cultivar and the right of the breeders, we successfully develop a novel method by the introduction of foreign DNA sequence (27bp) as molecular marker via BioWare low pressure gene gun into Mormodes lawrence and Zygopetalum mackayi. Histochemical GUS transient expression was obtained from aleurone layer and embryo of Zea mays using BioWare low pressure gene gun with acceleration pressure of 50psi. This is the first report on successful transfer into plant tissue using BioWare low pressure gene gun.
