At last the results have been applied to the tracking problem of a class of mechanical systems with discontinuous friction term. Chapter 3 mainly deals with uniformly ultimate boundedness of a class of nonautonomous systems with discontinuous right-hand sides and corresponding perturbed systems (in the sense of Filippov solutions). Based on the fundamental theory of impulsive differential systems, employing Green formula, Gauss divergence theorem, Jensen inequality and Gronwall-Bellman inequality with impulse, we discuss the oscillation of impulsive partial differential systems by adopting reduction to absurdity and the stability in via of comparison theorem, respectively. Especially, we take an in-depth study on the oscillation of neutral impulsive parabolic systems and the stability of a class of nonlinear impulsive partial differential equations and obtain some useful conclusions.

In chapter 2, we first give a generalized type of the Prigons fixed point theorem and a straightforward proof of it. At the same time, we give a positive answer to an open question about convergency of iterative sequence for generalized contraction which is bring forwarded by Frigon in [3]. Secondly, by using the introduced function φ, we establish some fixed point theorems for the set-valued φ-contraction mappings in gauge spaces. These results unify and generalize the corresponding results of Cain and Nashed [1], Figon [3], Espinola and Kirk[4], Tarafder [5] et al.
