In 1962 Miss Short was invited to speak during the installation of the Baptist Student Union officers in Baptist College. The BSU president and four officers were graduates of Pooi To. Miss Short had led one of the officers named Althea to faith in Christ. Another of the officers was not such a good student although she was a Christian. Miss Short, the teacher, counselor tells what she did,"I visited in her home and tried to help her realize that God wanted her to be a diligent student."

In the Chinese legislative history, the current civil code drafting commission is the most democratic, but there are some shortcomings in the organizing methods. The nominating procedure of drafting persons is too careless and the composition of drafting commission is unreasonable. The drafters are generally old and the actual drafters are relatively separate from the nominated drafters. The policy of drafting civil code without cost is harmful to the quality of draft text.
