In Chapter 2, I make use of the keywords like "settle the dispute","work" to analyze about self-consciousness and identity of the heroine (Otani's wife) of " The Wife Of Villon". Furthermore, I also analyze the figure characteristics of the husband of the heroine with the monologue of Otani's wife .

In Reynolds the court considered the argument made by a man convicted of practicing polygamy （一夫多妻制、一妻多夫制） that it is the religious duty of male members of the Mormon Church to engage in plural marriage, and that the penalty for failing to do so "would be damnation in the life to come."

Here in the 1920s and '30s, a handful of polygamous families settled astride the Utah-Arizona border after the leadership of the Mormon Church became increasingly determined to shed its polygamous past and be accepted by the American mainstream. In 1935 the church gave settlement residents an ultimatum: renounce plural marriage or be excommunicated. Practically everyone refused and was cast out of the LDS.

That in the advance from savagery the system of kinship through females only was succeeded by a system which acknowledged kinship through males also; and which, in most cases passed into a system which acknowledged kinship through males only. 5. That the system of kinship through males tended to rear up homogeneous groups, and thus to restore the original condition of affairs- wher the exogamous prejudice survived- as regards both the practice of capturing wives and the evolution of the form of capture. 6. That a local tribe, under the combined influence of exogamy and the system of female kinship, might attain a balance of persons of different sexes regarded as being of different descent, and that thus its members might be able to intermarry with the principle of exogamy. 7. That a local tribe, having reached this stage and grown proud through success in war, might decline intermarriage with other local tribes and become a caste.
