These older people have heard this 'bad press' foryears - that China is ' not safe', that you can only travel ingroups, China is unfriendly to foreigners, that hotel standards arepoor, that some food is not safe to eat etc.etc.

这些老年游客他们之前听多了中国的负面报道，诸如中国治安不好所以最好组团旅游，中国人特别不友好，住宿条件也特别差，好多食物很不卫生……也有少数单独旅行，但是大多数还是跟团旅行。
