This paper also criticizes the theory of "culture integration " which has occupied main position in the literary criticism on the works of Chinese-American writers in order to emphasize that the idea of multi-cultures is actually the key to decode the text of The Bonesetter's Daughter and extract Tan's intention in her writings.
