Rule-based and reusebased method is adapted in our system to develop applications. Rules are used to define geometric representation of geographic objects, spatial relationships among geographic objects and map design rules. Reusability is realized through object's inheritance and encapsulation. The basic function related to GIS has been implemented in OOGDB's basic class base.
