In fed-batch fermentations, the 1,3-PD yields of 0.47 and0.46mol/mol on crude glycerol were comparable to that of 0.49mol/mol on pure glycerol.

Methods: The three lung cancer cell lines-A549(highly invasive human lung adenocarcinoma cell ), 95-D(highly metastatic human lung carcinoma cell), and SPC-A-1(lowly metastatic human lung adenocarcinoma cell) were cultured conventionally in vitro.
