It has been clear for some time that the groundwater level at Giza is rising. Pools were forming in front of the Valley Temple of Khafre, and people were worried that this might endanger the Sphinx and its temples as well. In early 2008, the SCA, in cooperation with Cairo University's Engineering Center for Archaeology and Environment, drilled four boreholes, each 4 inches in diameter and about 20 meters deep, into the bedrock at the base of the Sphinx. A camera lowered into each borehole allowed the engineers to examine the geological configuration of the plateau beneath the Sphinx. In addition, a small well called a piezometer was inserted into each borehole to monitor the underground water level. The investigation revealed that the water came up to about 15.6 meters above sea level, not an immediate threat to the statue, but cause for concern in the long term. I decided that it would be best to go ahead and address this threat before it could become more acute.

The authors investigated the environmental-geological conditions of a certain refuse landfill site in Beijing and the ability of strata to prevent refuse pollution and monitored groundwater pollution by refuse for one consecutive hydrologic year.

通过对北京某垃圾场所处的环境地质条件、地层对垃圾污染物的防护能力的调查及对地下水连续1个水文年的污染监测，用单因子和多因子(综合污染指数和内梅罗污染指数)2种方法，评价了该垃圾场对地下水的污染情况。

At last,we find the cause of formation of red mud-intercalated by analyzing 4 possible cause of formation : tectogenesis form; natural weathering and relaxtion form; drtion and destroy of slope form; collapse of cavity because of karst affect in the base of investigating istogeological condition of circumscription and dam zone and physiognomy of dam zone.

在调查掌握区域和坝址区地质条件以及坝址区地形地貌的基础上，从四个方面分析了红色夹泥的可能成因：构造形成、正常风化卸荷形成、斜坡变形破坏形成以及岩溶溶洞垮塌形成，最后得出红色夹泥的成因。

Combined with the project of'Technology of ground pressure control under high crustal stress and the mining plan research in Yinshan Mine', the stability of schistosity structural stope is studied.

主要研究内容和结论如下：(1)在现场调查的基础上，进行了工程地质岩组划分，查明了保护墩及采场片帮、冒顶的主要原因，得出了片理结构是影响采场稳定性主要因素的结论。

Because slack has changed the underground water condition which led to the gathering of underground water at the mudstone cleavage zone, and has decreased the resistance, of which the synthetic 〓 is about 13°, it has made the rock mass about the cleavage slide slsde in the western direction.

Based on collected drill hole materials and predecessor publication\'s dates on seabed sediments physical and mechanical characters in the Yellow River subaquatic delta,the distribution and engineering geological nature of this area sediments are studied systematically;though the analysis geotechnical achievement tables and compression curves of those data,the layered summation was used to calculate the final subsidence quantity;Terzaghi consolidation theory was calculated and the Plaxis software was simulated subsidence with time changes;based on measured dates and other method,the quantitative analysis results were verified,Finally this study analyzes influencing factors and proposes control measures and proposals.

本文通过收集的钻孔资料以及前人发表的黄河水下三角洲海底沉积物物理力学数据，对研究区的沉积物分布，沉积物工程地质性质进行系统的研究；通过对调查资料中的土工试验成果表以及压缩曲线分析，采用分层总和法计算最终沉降量，采用太沙基固结理论计算和Pl(来源：ABCe2论文网www.abclunwen.com)axis软件模拟沉降随时间的变化关系；通过实测数据以及其它方法验证定性分析得出的结果，最后分析引起地面沉降的因素，并提出地面沉降的控制措施和建议。

Based on the Changxing Agricultural Geologic Environment Survey in Zhejiang Province, the paper marks the abnormal plot of some elements in the soil of surface layer in Meishan Basin, such as Cd、Hg、As、Ni、Pb、S、Br、Cl、F, and lays emphasis on the spatial distribution of the abnormalism, and also evaluates the environmental quality of soil and shallow groundwater preliminarily. The results show that enormous coal gangue was stacked with open-air as a result of coal mining of Meishan Basin.

文章以长兴县农业地质环境调查结果为依据，结合区域浅层、深层土壤及浅层地下水测试分析数据的统计特征，圈定了煤山盆地土壤中Cd、Hg、As、Ni、Pb等重金属和与采煤有关的S、Br、Cl、F等不同元素的地球化学异常图，重点分析了异常的空间表现特征，并对土壤、浅层地下水环境质量进行初步评价。
