Of the 9 cases, 5 showed an irregular area with less density on plain X-ray film. CT scanning showed nidus in all cases. MRI showed nidus in 1 case. Results the imaging manifestations of osteoid osteoma revealed a circular or oval radiolucency with different bone sclerosis around the nidus.the diameter ranged from 0.3cm to 1.6cm,with the average of 0.9cm.among 18 cases,only 14 cases showed nidus on plain film, all 15 cases with ct scanning showed nidus.the detection rate of nidus was 78%(14/18) for x-ray plain film and 100%(15/15) for ct, respectively.
