130 rats were randomly divided into five groups: 5F electroacupuncture treatment group, 50Hz electroacupuncture treatment group,100Hz electroacupuncture treatment group, the model group and the control group. 4mm defect was produced in the left sciatic nerve of each rat and silicon nerve guards were used to bridge the nerve defect not including the rats of the control group. After 10 weeks electroacupuncture treatment, gross observation, histological examination of the sciatic nerve were carried with method of HE stainning and S-100 immunhistochemical staining, Sevier-Munger stainnning.
