The improved CTAB method was applied to extracted genomic DNA in the leaves of 7 species of Michelia. Using the method of single factor in the experiment, the effects of different concentration of MgCl2, dNTP, template DNA, random primers and Taq DNA polymerase on RAPD reaction were studied.

Some species were considered to be domesticated and utilized easily, such as: Pterocarya stenoptera, Lespedeza formosa, Michelia skinneriana, Rosa laevigata, Sapium discolor, etc, as well as being of high ornamental value. The results would provide the bases to popularize the domesticating technique and utilize rationally the wild resources of ornamental plants.
