The Baoertu copper deposit is located in the Metamorphic rocks in the anticlines crest of Aimutaiwula, which located in the east part of the contact belt between South Tianshan and Middle Tianshan in the plate of Tarim, and on the south of the great faults of Wu\'wamen-Bao\'ertu. And the Baoertu copper deposit is one of the mainly metallogenetic areas, which are polymetallic metallogenic belts in South Tianshan-Haerke-Kumishenjin, including gold, copper, lead, zincum.

包尔图铜矿位于塔里木板块北缘南天山与中天山接触带的东段，乌瓦门-包尔图大断裂南侧，分布于艾木太乌拉背斜核部的一套变质岩中，是南天山-哈尔克-库米什金、铜、铅、锌多金属成矿带主要成矿区之一。
