The experiments for determining the mechanism and kinetics of catalytic pyrolysis reaction for a simple petroleum feedstock, were carried out in a batch micro-reactor using Daqing light gas oil. The results showed that carbonium and free radical reactions were the key reactions in catalytic pyrolysis.
