Chapter four studies the chaotic responses in a system consisting of simple pendulum and harmonic oscillator under bounded noise excitation. Firstly, the Melnikov function of the two-degree-of-freedom system under Hamiltonian perturbation is derived. The essential condition of the autonomous system for the probable onset of chaos is obtained, the Poincare maps of the system under small Hamiltonian perturbation and the effect of increasing perturbation on the Poincare maps are studies. Then for the non-autonomous system under damping and harmonic or bounded noise excitation, the largest Lyapunov exponent and Poincare maps are calculated. From the analysis of the largest Lyapunov exponent, the critical criterion for the onset of chaos, and the conclusion that the threshold of bounded noise amplitude for the onset of chaos in the system increases as the intensity parameter of Wiener process increases are obtained. The result from the analysis of Poincare maps is in agreement with that obtained from the Largest Lyapunov exponent. The effect of varying damping coefficient and intensity parameter of Wiener process is also analyzed.

This research uses high sensitive piezoelectric sensor for developing a sensitive sphygmograph to detect anthropic pulse and to determine parameters to diagnose physiology of human. From spectrum of pulse, the analysis processes are to determine the high pass frequency used in the analysis, uses the IIR Buttorworth filter to remove the noise, to calculate the Hermite curve for filtering the oscillation parts caused by breathe, then to calculate the parameters in strength, time and angle domains from the processed signal to study their correlation with the physiology of the studied experimenters and compared the results with the machine from the market.

As the beginning of this thesis, the important meanings of sea ice to global climate change and ocean engineering in polar and subpolar sea regions are explained firstly. Then, it is pointed out that sea ice numerical modelling, as a powerful tool of sea ice research, is limited by the precision of parameters within models instead of itself so far. It is meaningful to study the important parameters of sea ice dynamics by means of the rapidly developing digital imaging techniques so as to provide better input parameters needed in numerical models.
